But the solid cedar deck was very expensive to have custom made and it is a shame I had to cover it all up. So the next deck I built across the street seven months ago I used Deckover only this time the Smooth and did not use Cedar but pressure treated wood. You think I would get the idea that Behr deck paints don’t work on wood decks. But I used Behr paints for cement, for my exterior paint on my new home, and interior and I absolutely love all of their other products. But the seven month old Deckover Smooth is peeling off everywhere on my new deck after only seven month.

Was told by behr the wood must have been to damp inside ! Didn’t know a meat thermometer was needed to test interior dampness of wood. The plaintiffs maintain they would not have purchased or used Behr DeckOver if they had known it would not perform as advertised.

I did my deck last spring and it never made it to the next season….I have a big mess and a big expense to re-do it …Sanding is a disaster. Over 1000 sq.ft of deck rotted in 3 years under the paint.. Used this product not once but twice and followed directions. Now our deck has got to be redone and I will never recommend this product to anyone.

Well had someone come out estimates to fix were $6000. Well Behr gave us no where close to that. Had someone do some sanding,use stripper chemical, power wash nothing worked to get it off completely. We were told it was a completely tear down start over job.

This was done in April 2013, the deck over has continually, come up in different places and also had to replace rotten wood caused by using this product. I am currently requesting my statement fro Home Depot used during this period. I have my bank statement where I paid contractor $1150. Please notify how to include myself in the case. I have the same problem…The paint is peeling all over the deck. Used this product & it is terrible.
